A working program for building was officially adopted by a Quarterly Conference on February 1, 1959 during the ministry of the Reverend D. B. Alderman. The Building Committee was busy in the meantime. The Preliminary Sketches and the Estimated Financial Plan were approved by a Church Conference on March 19, 1961 during the ministry of the Reverend J. James Miller. Final action, approving the complete plans and financial proposal, was taken at a Special Quarterly Conference on July 24, 1961. The final service was held in the old church on July 30, 1961 and demolition was begun the following day. Construction of the New Sanctuary began during the week of August 13, 1961 during the ministry of the Reverend J. James Miller. It will be completed in the early summer of 1962.
