Tween youth group
The GUMC Tween Youth Group is for students in 5th through 8th grade and meets Sundays from 4 to 5:15 p.m. on the second floor of the church unless otherwise noted. The group focuses on building relationships with each other and with God while answering the spiritual questions children this age have, using a program called Be Bold. Transportation is available by contacting Director of Children and Youth Michelle Rash at 336-212-3424.
The schedule for April is:
April 7 — Be Bold: What Does the Bible Say About What I am Supposed to Be When I Grow Up?
April 13 — Movie Night at the Church (6 to 8:15 p.m., dinner will be provided)
April 14 — No Tweens
April 21 — Be Bold: Why Doesn't God Fix Our Country?
April 28 — Cookout at Moricle Park (4:30-6:30)
Thanks to a grant received by the church, a snack supper will be provided at the end of tweens each week (they will eat with the teen youth group from 5 to 5:15). We are excited to have this opportunity to share a meal with them each week.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
On April 14 and 28, a tween-specific Sunday School class will meet in the pink room on the second floor of the church from 10 to 10:45. Snacks are provided. The remaining weeks, our tweens will join with the elementary class for a combined-age class.
Register for VBS - June 17-21
Mark your calendars now for Vacation Bible School! Our theme for 2024 is “Scuba: Diving into Friendship with God.” VBS will be held June 17-21 from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. and is open to children from age 3 through rising 6th graders. (Older youth are encouraged to volunteer.) There is no cost to attend. We are limiting registration to 80 children this year, so please register early to save your spot.
2024 Summer mission trip
Our annual mission trip is open to youth who are 12 at the time of the trip through current high school seniors. We will be headed to Hinton Rural Life Center in the North Carolina mountains the week of July 28-Aug. 1.
We have reserved our spot for this week. However, as long as the week has not reached capacity, we are still able to add to our group. If you have not registered but would like to go, please let Michelle Rash know by March 31. There is a $150 deposit to save your place on the mission trip. Scholarships are available if needed.
